And their new naming scheme meaning more room above the CT6 for even higher-end vehicles. And someone called me stupid for suggesting it. Dick.

I am so okay with this idea/strategy.
This is the return of American luxury.
Damn I'm glad to be around and witness it.

I'm happy with the idea of more higher end cars for Cadillac ... But the naming structure is stupid, boring, uninspired, lame me too bullshit. Give them real names!!!

They could just give them real names like Fleetwood, Eldorado or DeVille. Cadillac has some imposing sounding names that they could use rather than some near-meaningless string of numbers and letters.

They could call them things like "Elmiraj CT12" with the latter being a doorand cylinder count. indicator. C for Coupe, T for whatever (for "Trim"?), and "12" for cylinders.
Yes, I said 12, because it would be cool .

Excellent idea.
Why settle for just 12, when you might as well build a 16?

They're usually pretty accurate. Don't you remember their LaFerrari rendering?

We can always hope! Cadillac seems like they are willing to start trying new things. I still dislike the naming scheme though. Why can't the CTS or CT6 be called something like Mongoose or Caesar, you know cool names.

They could but they won't so I'll accept that and enjoy the products rather than holding a grudge over the names.
Besides, their current naming scheme is equally stupid and far less structured. I didn't like that at first, but I got used to it. So used to it I was hoping the CT6 would be an STS.

Real names, sure. But not those names. Nobody in their target demographic wants a Fleetwood, Eldorado or Deville.
You really think some yuppie douche wants to drive around in a car with the same name as an old country band? Or a car that reminds him of old people? And not the cool old people like his 70 year old boss who drives a porsche and fucks 20 year old hookers.
Elmiraj is ok. Cien is good. But nothing that reminds anyone of retirees waiting to die in Florida please.

Really? Because when I hear Fleetwood, I think of a stately, impressive sedan. And when I hear Eldorado I think of an uncompromised personal luxury car. When I hear DeVille I think of bold and brash Coupe. Those names have a positive image that you can market so long as you do it right.
Their competitors are flooded with old people. BMWs seem to owned exclusively by old shits in assisted living and not the "young successful businessman" crap that they aim for. What do you think of when you hear the word "BMW?" Stodgy old farts playing golf at the country club in Florida just waiting for that burger with extra cheese to give them a heart attack. The companies don't give a shit about some yuppie douche who can't afford the cars they sell anyway.
Regardless, nobody with brains wants a car that could be a distant relative to R2D2.

Ever walked down to a club district on a saturday? It's wall to wall yuppie douche in bmw/benz/audi.
See, you look at that car and you think "man that's nice." A yuppie looks at that car and thinks "Oh hell no."
Let me put this way. I remember talking to my classmates in law school about what cars they'd get when we got real jobs and could afford it. Some people wanted a restored 67 fastback or replica cobra. Some wanted a bmw, others wanted an audi. One guy straight up said he'd already picked out his Aston Martin. Nobody said they wanted an old caddy.
This is the demographic I'm talking about. Young status obsessed douchebags. They do not want the old cadillac. Their predecessors didn't want them in the 80s and 90s so why would they suddenly want them now?
